Pharmacy FAQ's

Where is the UNO Pharmacy located and what are the hours of
operation?

The UNO Pharmacy is located in the
HPC Room 209. The hours of operation are 9:00am to 4:00pm, Monday through Friday. It is closed on weekends and holidays. The phone number is (504) 280-7074.


Who can use the pharmacy?
All currently enrolled students, faculty and staff are eligible
to use the pharmacy.


Are alumni eligible to continue using the pharmacy?

No. Once students graduate, they are no longer eligible to
use the pharmacy.


What types of services are offered by the pharmacy?

The pharmacy offers both prescription and non-prescription
medications, usually at discounted prices.


What do I need to bring with me in order to use the pharmacy?
You must bring your current UNO ID with you.


Does the UNO student health insurance cover the cost of
prescriptions filled at the pharmacy?

Yes, in the case of an illness or injury. The UNO student health
insurance will cover up to $75 per illness or injury. Students
must first pay for the prescription(s) at the pharmacy, and then
submit the pharmacy receipt(s). Any reimbursement will be
sent directly to the student from the insurance company.


Does the pharmacy accept private insurance for prescription
payment?

No, however, you may use the pharmacy receipts to file a
manual claim with your insurer.


Can purchases at the pharmacy be charged to my student
account using my student ID?

No.


What methods of payment does the pharmacy accept?
VISA, MasterCard, personal check, and cash are accepted.


Does the pharmacy accept prescriptions from "off-campus"
doctors who do not practice at UNO Health Services?

Yes.
